Nigel Wilson
24th October - 14th November 2009 It must have been early August. All the trees are red and on their winter pitch for two weeks before the colours drop off to amber. I stopped my truck between Clyde and Alex (Alexander) to appreciate it and then fetched art materials to absorb it better. Just one particular morning - but so characteristic of a Central winter morning where the colours are crisp and there's a mist forming below the Old Man Range and on the tops of willows and hovering just above the waters breath. There's a stillness, a certain light, a contrast between colours. I thought to myself: 'There's more than a few paintings in this.'
